Giant-Carlisle Opens Fuel Station in Scranton, Pa.

Aug 7, 2008

Giant Food Stores, LLC yesterday rolled out a fuel station in the parking lot of its Scranton, Pa. location at 1600 Nay Aug Ave. The new station offers a Pay-at-the-Pump feature, gas mitts to keep hands clean, waterless hand soap, and free air.

"Our goal is to provide customers with the greatest convenience and value possible both inside our stores and at the fuel pumps," said Giant Food v.p. for advertising and marketing Denny Hopkins. "Our Scranton-area customers will now be able to fill up their tanks when they fill up their grocery carts."

The Ahold USA banner now has over 60 fuel stations at its stores.

Giant Food operates stores in Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia, and West Virginia under the Giant Food Stores, Martin's Food Markets, and Foodsource names.
